I've been a marathoner, now finished over 34.....and my legs are pooped. Well, no my hips are. I love century rides but am a very intense person. So, I moved to Tulsa and found a delightful man to ride with who will not only help me, but is patient. I'm reading every entry on your webside/feed and going to race my first crit May 23 in Sand Springs. I've never been nervous about jumping out of planes, running Boston or anything......and this is not nerves speaking but I am EXCITED to find a sport that is VERY fitting to what I want out of competitive athletics!

Thanks for all your info!

Hah, your advice makes me smile...my first crit I had 8 family members there to watch the stud race, got dropped after 4 laps around and taken out of race 3 laps later..I remember thinking, how can I train that hard and spend so much time on my bike and be that bad and how much more do I need to do to compete? Fortunately I stuck with it and have had pretty good results since....
